ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Upcycle Products with Non-recyclable Items by Aisuka. Life* project is a community-driven initiative aimed at reducing non-recyclable packaging waste and promoting sustainable practices. Upcycling used packaging materials, the project aims to create a positive environmental impact while empowering the community through skill development and income generation opportunities.
The project aligns with the One Million Leaders (OML) program's pillars of sustainability, Leadership, Social Entrepreneurship, and Social Innovation. Through hands-on activities and training, community members will learn upcycling techniques, entrepreneurship skills, financial literacy, and leadership qualities.
With a focus on the state of Penang in Malaysia, the project targets individuals and households affected by the increase in non-recyclable packaging waste. By engaging and educating the community, the project aims to benefit a significant number of beneficiaries and create a ripple effect of positive change.

Project Goal

The overall goal of the project is to create a sustainable and inclusive community by upcycling non-recyclable used packaging, upskilling community members, and uplifting their living standards. The project aims to reduce waste sent to landfills, empower individuals with valuable skills and knowledge, and enhance their economic opportunities.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Upcycle non-recyclable used packaging materials into innovative and useful products, minimizing waste generation and promoting circular economy principles.
Upskill community members by providing training and workshops on crafting skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and leadership, enabling them to gain new competencies and enhance their employability.
Uplift the community by supporting income-generating activities and fostering economic growth through the creation of small businesses or income opportunities related to upcycling.
