Dipika is a forestry graduate currently pursuing a master's degree in 'Natural Resource Management and Rural Development' at Kathmandu Forestry College. Currently, she is involved with the Nepal Water Conservation Foundation (NWCF) as Volunteer Coordinator. She believes in innovation and creativity, along with the utilization of youths, women, and children for a better future. Her aim is to collaborate with students from schools to cultivate awareness about wildlife through an array of interactive workshops and presentations. She recognizes that children, particularly those residing in urban areas like Kathmandu, lack exposure to wildlife and its ecosystems.
Her overarching vision is to foster within them a profound understanding of the significance of wildlife and to nurture empathy towards various species. While they may have encountered animals primarily through visits to zoos, her aspiration is to impart knowledge in an engaging and enjoyable manner. By engaging with children at a young age, she aspires to instill in them a genuine passion for wildlife, motivating them to actively contribute to the preservation of ecosystems and the conservation of vulnerable species. This initiative also presents an invaluable opportunity to acquaint them with endangered animals on the brink of extinction. This project is more likely to address SDG goals are SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land.
