Gayatri Khurana is a socially responsible change-maker who is building a career in public policy and government project management, leveraging her expertise in leadership and policy analysis. She is actively involved in the clean and green association in her town and has worked with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, for 2 years. During this time, she focused on uplifting the skill ecosystem in one of the most rural, tribal, and border districts in the northeastern state of Mizoram. Gayatri prepared and implemented projects, particularly promoting organic farming and post-harvest management to build the capacity of farmers and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), connecting them with exporters to foster entrepreneurship. Among all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), she sees an emerging need for ground-level work for peace, justice, and strong institutions, particularly SDG 16.

Despite India's global reputation for diplomacy, the country's diverse cultural landscape often experiences local clashes. Gayatri, having experienced the diversity in the northeastern states of India, recognizes the sensitivities and divisions within communities. Despite India having multiple departments for various functions, no NGO has yet initiated peace advocacy or preemptive diplomatic solutions to prevent clashes and promote harmony. Gayatri sees herself as a natural diplomat and believes that, in addition to India's external relations, there is a pressing need for diplomacy within communities as well

OMLAS Project: Gayatri together with the Champions will initially focus on preparing strategic diplomatic and peace solutions, targeting the constituency of Rohtak, Haryana, at the grassroots level. This will involve training Panchayats and Municipalities, as well as conducting workshops in schools and colleges. The project will then expand to include corporate solutions, targeting other NGOs, non-governmental institutions, and government bodies to conduct workshops on peace solutions and conflict resolution. The aim is to address the multiple ideologies present within each team and organization, recognizing the high chances of conflicting thoughts. At a wider scope, the project aims to influence mindsets to prioritize peace and respect, regardless of differences. Implementing this project is a priority for Gayatri, and with OMLAS support, she aims to create a unique space for peace-building initiatives in India.
