OMLAS Project: “Stitching Dreams: Empowering Women Through Sewing”
Kamal's OMLAS Project, "Stitching Dreams: Empowering Women Through Sewing," aims to promote women empowerment and gender equality in the rural community of District Ghotki. Women in these areas often rely on outdated stitching techniques, adversely affecting their eyesight and health. This project provides environmentally friendly infrastructure, training, sewing machines, and space to learn and adopt modern stitching techniques. By enhancing their skills and health, the project helps women improve their economic opportunities and contribute more significantly to their communities.
Experience at OMLAS
“My experience with OMLAS has been amazing and has exceeded my expectations. I have had the opportunity to meet young and committed leaders from diverse backgrounds, make friends, and attend life-changing training sessions. What sets OMLAS apart is the support and encouragement they provide for each participant to speak out. I am grateful to be part of this wonderful journey.”
Through this project, he aims to address key SDGs; SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 3: Good Health & Well-being, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
