Prakriti Chataut

Prakriti Chataut, from Nepal, holds a bachelor's degree in Forestry from the Institute of Forestry, Hetauda. During her university years, she served as the vice-secretary for Bird Conservation Nepal, Hetauda, a college-affiliated organization dedicated to spreading awareness about the conservation of birds. She also volunteered for National Youth for Climate Action and advocated for climate change. Currently, she is working as a research trainee at the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) under the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in Lomanthang, Mustang.

She has always been passionate about wildlife and the environment and feels blessed to work in this sector. Since ACAP looks at multidimensional aspects of development, from community development and tourism strengthening to biodiversity conservation, she has had the opportunity to interact and work with various vulnerable communities. Along the way, she discovered a deep interest in working with people, understanding their needs and problems, and contributing in some way to improving their quality of life. As a result, working for the development of vulnerable communities has also been added to her list of passions.

OMLAS Experience: “When I first applied for this program, I expected a series of classes focused on leadership and sustainability. However, as the intensive training phase is ending, I realize that OMLAS has offered me far more than just knowledge. My once limited perspective on sustainability, ethical leadership, personal development and social entrepreneurship has significantly expanded. More importantly, I have grown both as a person and as a leader.

OMLAS is much more than just online classes it is a library of inspiring individuals, from coaches, trainers, management committees, alumni and my fellow participants, from whom I have found endless opportunities to learn, reflect and stay motivated. I will always remember the meaningful, deep and thought-provoking conversations in the breakout room as well as other valuable memories I have made during my time here.”
