Taslima Akter recently completed her Master’s in Psychology from the University of Dhaka, where she developed a deep passion for understanding human behavior and advocating for those who need it most.
She currently works at Daffodil International University, supporting students in their academic and personal growth. She also proudly volunteers with UNICEF Bangladesh, contributing to initiatives that improve the lives of children. As an Associate Trainer at ActionAid Bangladesh, she educates and empowers youth on climate-related issues, helping them become strong voices for environmental sustainability.
Taslima is also the Regional Coordinator at Brighters, where she leads and organizes training sessions focused on climate awareness, leadership development, and youth empowerment. Through this role, she collaborates with local and international partners to create impactful learning experiences that inspire young changemakers.
Additionally, she is an active member of YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the UNFCCC, where she connects with global youth working on climate action. Her advocacy focuses heavily on women’s and children’s rights, as she believes that tackling climate change means protecting our most vulnerable communities.
Beyond her professional roles, she is deeply committed to climate activism and youth leadership. She works closely with organizations and like-minded individuals to create meaningful change, whether through training, awareness campaigns, or grassroots initiatives.
At the heart of everything she does is a simple but powerful dream: to work closely with children, help them understand climate challenges, and empower them to be the changemakers of tomorrow. She wants to create a world where they can grow up in a sustainable and just environment.
OMLAS Experience: “I’m truly grateful to be part of the Omlas Leadership Program. This incredible experience has helped me grow both personally and professionally. Through the program, I’ve gained valuable insights into effective leadership, teamwork, and advocacy skills that will guide me in my journey as a future leader. It has also deepened my commitment to youth empowerment and climate action. As someone working with Daffodil International University, UNICEF, and ActionAid, I now feel more equipped to lead change. Thank you, Omlas, for inspiring me and giving me the tools to make a greater impact.”
